The Official
40th Race App

POWERED BY TCS

Coming soon, the Official 40th Race app, powered by TCS, will enable participants to log their 26.2 miles and earn the coveted Virgin Money London Marathon medal and New Balance finisher T-shirt.

As well as allowing them to track and log their run, the app will help bring the virtual experience to life, with an exclusive audio commentary featuring famous voices providing a memorable soundtrack to the day.

Elites in action

On the same day, the very best marathoners of all time, including Eliud Kipchoge, Kenenisa Bekele, Brigid Kosgei, Manuela Schär and David Weir, will race in a biosphere environment on a closed loop course around St James’s Park.

Sir Mo Farah will also run as a pacemaker for British hopefuls attempting to qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Although The 40th Race will be run remotely, participants will still receive support and advice, both on event day and during the lead-up to it.

A huge range of support materials and training guidance from Virgin Money London Marathon experts is available on our website, via newsletters and on social media channels – including Facebook Live Q&A sessions.

Taking part in the Virgin Money London Marathon, your way, also means participants can be creative with the challenge that lies ahead! Ideas include:

  • Being dropped 26.2 miles from home and running back to a hero’s welcome

  • Completing each mile with a different running buddy, sharing the challenge with friends and family

  • Getting together with a group of friends to walk the 26.2miles together

  • Creating a unique course that visits the homes of friends and family so they can set up outdoor drinks stations for a refuel and catch-up over an energy bar
