If you had to withdraw from the 2018 Virgin Money London Marathon, we guaranteed you an entry for the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon (unless you had already carried your ballot entry over from 2017), providing that you followed these simple instructions:
You needed to complete the online withdrawal form no later than Saturday 21 April 2018 at 20:00. You were then sent an email confirming your application for withdrawal.
If you completed the online withdrawal form, providing you adhere to the dates below and pay the appropriate entry fee, you will be accepted for the 2019 race unless you have already carried your entry over from the 2017 race or if the entry was received from a charity or sponsor. Please note that runners may only defer their place for one year.
Runners who withdrew will receive an email link for a guaranteed place for the 2019 race on Monday 4 June 2018.
If you have not heard from us by Tuesday 5 June, please telephone our Helpdesk on 020 7902 0200 between Tuesday 5 June and certainly no later than Wednesday 20 June 2018. Failure to do so will result in loss of entry. The closing date for completion of the online guaranteed entry form is 17:00 on Friday 22 June 2018.
Please note that entry fees are not refundable under any circumstances (see terms and conditions). However, we do offer this option to apply for a guaranteed entry for the following year to everyone who got their place through the ballot and then has to withdraw. This means it is not necessary to go through the ballot process again. Please note that it is only possible to withdraw and apply for a guaranteed place once. If you took up a guaranteed place for 2018 and then withdrew again, you will not be eligible for a guaranteed place in 2019.
In order to secure your guaranteed place in 2019, you must meet the deadlines outlined in the withdrawal process and pay the entry fee for the 2019 Virgin Money London Marathon.
