Deferred Entry Due to Illness or Injury

If you had to withdraw your 2015 Virgin Money London Marathon ballot entry through illness or injury we guarantee you an entry for the 2016 Virgin Money London Marathon (unless you had already carried your ballot entry over from 2014), providing that you followed these simple instructions:

You needed to complete the online withdrawal form no later than Saturday 23 April 2016 at 20:00. If you completed the online withdrawal form, you would have been sent an email confirming your withdrawal.

Providing you adhere to the dates below and pay the appropriate entry fee, you will be accepted for the 2016 race unless you have already carried your entry over from the 2014 race or if the entry was received from a charity or sponsor. Please note that runners may only defer their place for one year.

Runners who withdrew from the 2016 race by 20:00 on Saturday 23 April 2016 will receive an email link for an ill or injured entry form for the 2017 race by Monday 6 June 2016. If you have not heard from us by Monday 6 June 2016 please telephone our Helpdesk on 020 7902 0200 between Monday 6 June and certainly no later than Wednesday 12 June 2016 – failure to do so will result in loss of entry. The closing date for completion of the online ill or injured entry form is 17:00 on Saturday 24 June 2016.

It is the runner’s responsibility to ensure they have completed their 2016 online ill or injured entry form and paid the 2016 entry fee by the closing date as it will not be extended under any circumstances.

If you had a provisional entry into the 2016 Virgin Money London Marathon, you will need to pay for your 2016 place first, you will then be able to withdraw from Friday 20 November 2015.
