Ballot Place Runners
If you have secured a place in the Virgin Money London Marathon through the ballot and you’re interested in using your place to raise money for charity, this section is for you.
As one of the fortunate ones to be picked in the ballot, your thoughts will inevitably turn to your training – but have you considered sharing your luck and running for a charity? As a ‘ballot place’ or ‘own place’ runner, the minimum levels of fundraising do not apply to you. This means you don’t have to commit raising a set amount – just remember that anything you raise will be a bonus for that charity.
So why not ‘go the extra mile’ and raise funds for a charity, or even multiple charities, and join in with other fellow fundraisers? Being a part of a charity team guarantees you’ll have plenty of support and fellow team members on race day. And you never know – you may even find each mile is that bit easier knowing that your every step is helping a worthy cause.
