Virtual Marathon Charity Ballot

Thanks for your interest in the virtual 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon. The deadline to apply for places in the charity ballot has now passed.

The key dates for the virtual 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon are:

  • Confirmation of entry allocations: Friday 5 February
  • Results announcement for the public ballot for the 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon: Monday 8 February
  • Exclusive entry window for unsuccessful ballot entrants to the virtual event opens: Monday 8 February
  • General entries to the virtual event open: Tuesday 16 February

The virtual event ballot system enables charities to apply for a set number of entries in the virtual marathon from a choice of six bands.

If any band is over-subscribed and a charity is not allocated entries due to that over-subscription, and at the same time any band is under-subscribed, we will allocate entries at a lower level to the charity that has not been allocated any entries.

Charity entries will be available at the standard entry price of £28 (£38 for entries from outside the UK to cover international postage and packing). Please note, any unused entries for the virtual 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon will not rollover to a future edition of the event.

Charity ballot for the virtual 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon

The 2021 Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday 3 October is set to be the world’s first 100,000-person marathon with 50,000 participants in a virtual event around the globe joining 50,000 on the traditional course from Blackheath to The Mall.

The 2021 event builds on the huge success of the first virtual Virgin Money London Marathon last October and provides a fantastic fundraising opportunity for charities and the perfect opportunity to engage with your supporters wherever they are in the world. Participants will again have 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds to complete the marathon on the course of their choice, and all finishers will receive the coveted official medal and T-shirt.
