
For many, especially first-timers, the run up to the Virgin Money London Marathon can mean the start of sleepless nights worrying: What if I get injured? What should I wear? How far should I have run before the big day?
Every year in advance of Race Day, we invite runners to come and meet the marathon experts. This event, for both new and improving runners, is the ideal opportunity to meet and discuss your race preparation with some of the foremost authorities in the world of distance running and get the best possible advice available to help you prepare for the race.
Held on Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd February 2013, speakers include Hugh Brasher, Race Director of the Virgin Money London Marathon; Andy Dixon, Editor of Runner's World magazine; Sam Murphy, leading coach and sports scientist; Lisa Thompson, Course Director of the Virgin Money London Marathon; and Liz (2006 Commonwealth Games bronze medallist) and Martin (sports writer and UKA level endurance coach) Yelling with great training advice.
adidas will be selling the official Virgin Money London Marathon clothing, so you can look the part in training and on race day. Finding the best trainers is all about fit. adidas specialists will be available all day Saturday and Sunday with their foot scanners to advise you on the best running shoes for your style. Plus there will be amazing special offers you won't find anywhere else, so be prepared to shop!
Nestle Pure Life Water will be available during the day. A member of the Lucozade Sport Performance Team will be on hand to provide nutrition and hydration advice for your race training.
This event is free to Golden/Silver Bond runners, who will be sent registration details and information directly by their chosen charity.
