We are a small running club (approximately 100 members), based in Bicester, Oxfordshire, which was formed in 1999 and named after the old Roman town and fort of Alchester just to the west of modern day Bicester.
Your questions answered!
Where can I find you?
We meet, for Club night at the Bicester and Ploughley Sports Centre right in the centre of Bicester, on Wednesday evenings at 7.00pm. Members can use the shower facilities at the Sports Centre. Club nights are run with pace groups sheperded by club members wearing coloured bibs (similar to the pace runners provided by Runners World at the London Marathon)
What training do you do?
REDGroup:9mile
ORANGEGroup:6miles@8:00min/mile
YELLOWGroup:6miles@9min/mile
GREENGroup:6miles@9:30-10:00min/mile
BLUE Group: One or more groups to meet the needs of others attending each session, subject to the availability of group shepherds.
We also carry out speed training on a Tuesday and a long run on a Sunday
Can I turn up or do I have to join first?
We would encourage you to turn up and have a run. We would only provide this facility for 1 month when we would expect a decision to be made with regard membership.
I am only looking to train for the Virgin London Marathon, how will I find others to train with?
Come down and you will meet others who are marathon training.
